Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Co-op Academy Bebington, a school I am proud to lead.

I took up post as Head Teacher in September 2016 and since that time we have seen considerable improvements to the school environment, the quality of teaching and learning and our students’ exemplary behaviour.

Leading a staff of experienced and passionate professionals, we have improved student exam results significantly, both at GCSE and post 16, from our 6th Formers. I and my staff are committed to developing students academically and also in the essential life skills, so they are prepared for the next stage in their education, employment or training. Students’ experiences therefore include trips abroad, to the theatre, visits to universities, Duke of Edinburgh activities, engagement in our school farm and motor vehicle workshop and participation in a huge array of clubs and activities. We want these personal development opportunities to support our young people in becoming kind people, good citizens and community leaders with a sound moral compass.

As a mum I truly believe we all want the very best for our children and that is why I am committed to excellence. Our core professional purpose at Co-op Academy Bebington is, ‘Shaping Exceptional Futures’, because I, governors and staff believe all young people have skills and talents and it is up to us to find and develop those, and celebrate them.

I am naturally passionate about my school because I had a difficult educational experience as a young person and believe education is about life chances and that’s why I lead with commitment, an exceptional school.

“Education is about providing life chances. We pride ourselves on delivering opportunities inside and beyond the classroom. We offer traditional and non-traditional courses augmented by our farm and construction facilities. These provide exciting learning opportunities enabling students to achieve in line with their interests and abilities. Our aim is to improve the health & wellbeing, employability and life chances of young people.”
