GCSE Success Stories 2023

Kieran & Lauren

Kieran is a very hard working student, polite and respectful to everyone he meets. During Year 11 Kieran had to take some time off school to recover from major surgery. Despite this he continued to work as hard as ever during his recovery period which was a painful time for him. Staff agree that Kieran lights up every classroom he goes into thanks to his sharp intellect and even sharper wit.  The form didn't feel the same until Kieran returned after surgery and he arrived to a hero's welcome.  It is truly astounding to see how someone can struggle so much and still keep a smile on his face, never once did Kieran moan or grumble about the pain he was in or the surgery he had.  Instead Kieran threw himself into everything he did in school and caught up with his studies from home (sometimes even from his hospital bed!). Kieran is a real credit to the school and his family and should be proud of his achievements at the academy. We wish him every success for the future.

Lauren is a very mature and independent young woman. She is also a young carer for her mum, and has had her own struggles throughout years 10 and 11. Despite all of this Lauren has forged incredible relationships with her peers, and also her teachers, which have helped to improve her attendance, and also her participation in lessons. Lauren has not always found school life easy, but she has worked hard throughout the years to improve her knowledge and understanding. Lauren has a talent for maintaining her natural positive attitude even when things have been tough.

Lauren has the biggest smile, and knows how to make the people around her laugh. She will be missed at Co-op Academy Bebington, but we wish her all the best of luck as she journeys on to college and into a bright future.
