Let Girls Play

In honor of International Women’s Week, the PE department hosted #LetGirlsPlay, the biggest football session. This exciting initiative aimed to encourage and empower girls to take part in football.

The event saw an overwhelming turnout, with over 80 girls showing up to the final Girls-Only Astro session, a fantastic display of enthusiasm and support for women in sports. The #LetGirlsPlay movement is all about breaking down barriers, promoting gender equality, and inspiring young girls to pursue their passions on and off the field.

Throughout the session, participants had the opportunity to practice their football skills, build confidence, and, most importantly, have fun in a supportive and empowering environment.

The success of this event serves as a reminder of the importance of creating inclusive spaces where girls can thrive in sports and other areas traditionally dominated by men. The PE department is proud to be a part of such a significant event and is committed to continuing to support and celebrate girls in sport, not just during International Women’s Week, but all year round.

We’d like to extend a massive thank you to all the girls who participated and to the PE staff for their hard work in making this event a huge success. Here's to many more #LetGirlsPlay sessions in the future!
