GCSE Results 2024

Students at Co-op Academy Bebington performed well this year in their GCSE and other level 2 subjects of particular note were the results of Mia, who achieved a grade 9, two grade 8s, three grade 7s and a level 2 distinction.

Ethan achieved 8s in English, Spanish and Geography and 6s in Maths and Triple Science and a Level 2 Distinction in Graphics. Many thanks to the staff who worked hard with students who achieved the grades we received and thanks also to students and parents for their commitment.

Mia

Mia had a rocky start to Year 7. Her attendance issues nearly led to Mr Moore issuing her transfer papers! She disliked school so much and would come up with all sorts of excuses not to attend. After the 2020 lockdown, the year team witnessed a dramatic change. Mia came back to school determined to succeed!

With each passing year, Mia's unwavering commitment and hard work have transformed her into a model student who smashed her academic targets. She embraced her studies, pouring herself into every lesson, assignment and intervention. Initially showing an interest in law, Mia managed to organise her own work experience in a law firm in Year 10. She has now set her sights on a career as a doctor. Her self-belief is an inspiration to others and I challenge anyone to stand in her way!

Gifted and talented in English and Spanish, Mia is exceeding in most of her GCSE subjects. She has a hilarious dry-witted humour and is a good friend to many in her year group. Staff always comment on how conscientious she is and how she strives to achieve her potential.

Through sheer hard work and determination Mia has improved her maths by two grades since the start of year 11. She has attended every single online tutoring session, after school, holiday intervention and maths masterclass, in addition to working independently through some of the higher tier topics in order to achieve a better maths grade.

With her sights set firmly on the future, Mia is poised to continue her academic journey, eager to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. Mia's story serves as a reminder that it's never too late to turn things around!

We are very proud of you Mia!

Lilly

Lilly has always been an amazing student. She is such a polite, well-mannered young lady who has a permanent smile! A consistent hard-worker who would give 100% to any task.

However, in Year 9 Lilly faced significant personal battles that threatened her education and her future. Lilly missed many hours of school during this time. Her worried form rallied around her and would send her positive affirmations and well wishes. We all missed her terribly and wanted her to come back to school!

At the start of Year 10, we looked at starting Lilly on a reduced timetable so she felt supported and not overwhelmed. But Lilly had other ideas! Others may have succumbed to these pressures but Lilly was determined. We reluctantly followed her wishes and prayed she would be OK.

This was the start of Lilly’s comeback! Academically, Lilly’s performance is exemplary. She excels in all her subjects and is ranked as one of the best performers in the whole of Year 11. Her dedication is evident in her target grades, but more importantly, it’s her thirst for knowledge, positive mindset and her commitment to wanting to achieve that is inspirational. Concerned for others too, she shares her knowledge with peers in an effort for them to improve. Lilly goes above and beyond and participates in every intervention, masterclass and revision session, often bringing with her originality and flair.

Lilly’s story is a powerful reminder that with perseverance, it is possible to overcome life’s challenges and accomplish greatness.  We are so very proud of how far you have come Lilly and deserve every success and happiness. Well done – you’ve smashed it! We never had any doubt!
