Below are some of the things we have been up to this year.
Celebration of Achievement
We were thrilled to have both current and former students join us in commemorating their accomplishments in various subjects.
It was a pleasure to have our guest speaker, Neil Danns, share his inspiring story with us. Billy's passionate performance and the wonderful music from our school bands made the event truly special.
F1 Go Greener Project
F1 students made a valuable contribution to the Go Greener project this year with their artwork. Visit Bebington train station to admire their creative work on display!
WinterFest
The show was absolutely fantastic, with music performances from students of every year group, Year 7 dancers, and a Christmas Chaos performance from our Drama students. We are immensely proud of each individual who performed. We have real talent at Co-op Academy Bebington.
NCFE Sport Quiz Winners
Huge congratulations to the Year 10 NCFE Sport quiz champions! The students' teamwork and competitive spirit made for an exciting event, highlighting their hard work and Christmas trivia expertise.
Blood Brothers Workshop
Year 10 had the opportunity this year to work with Alex from ATG, who has years of experience portraying Mickey Johnstone in Blood Brothers. The students really enjoyed his workshop and the Q+A session where they discussed the industry and performing in such an iconic play! We are blessed with an English Department who are passionate about their subject and want students to experience first hand, as much as possible, theatre trips and real life performances.
Mock Interviews
The mock interviews for Year 11 and Year 13 students went really well, with excellent feedback received. Local and national employers attended to conduct the interviews, and they return annually as they enjoy working with our students. Comments from employers about our students' behaviour, preparedness, formality, knowledge and professionalism in the interviews were outstanding.
Spelling Bee & Public Speaking Competition
Our exceptional students proudly competed in the Spelling Bee and Public Speaking Competitions.
Bebras UK Challenge
A big congratulations to the students who earned certificates for joining the Bebras UK challenge! This challenge is a fantastic way to introduce students to computational thinking and it's amazing to see it happening in so many countries around the world.
Let Girls Play
We joined England Football's #LetGirlsPlay Biggest Ever Football session as part of our International Women's Day festivities!
Ski Trip
In February half term, our staff took 40 students to Sestriere, Italy. The students demonstrated impressive determination as they learned to ski, and their positive attitude was exceptional. They truly represented our school well and should feel very proud of their accomplishments.
Melwood Training Centre Visit
The students had a great time at Melwood Training Centre, where they participated in a valuable workshop about career opportunities for women and girls. They also enjoyed exploring the grounds where the Liverpool Women's First Team trains.
Mutant Fish Creations by Eco Club
How amazing to witness the 'mutant fish' creations showcased at Birkenhead Park Visitor Centre! Mrs. Hopkins and Eco Club did a fantastic job. This is all part of a Wirral-wide effort to bring attention to plastic pollution.
Year 9 Boy's Football Team
Our Year 9 boys' team reached the final of the Merseyside Cup, and we couldn't be prouder of their hard work and dedication this year!
Lee Charles Assembly
Huge gratitude to Lee Charles, our guest speaker, for sharing his career journey with years 7 and 9. Lee, originally from Rock Ferry, began practicing martial arts as a child. Today, he collaborates with Hollywood actors and credits martial arts for his achievements. We can't wait to have you back!
Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Expedition
Well done to our outstanding students for completing the Duke of Edinburgh bronze expedition and a massive thank you to the staff who have been there to support them. Through the Duke of Edinburgh programme, students have a wonderful time, form friendships, boost their self-esteem, and develop essential skills for their future. We are incredibly proud of all the participants!
F1 Christ Church Cake Sale
Our F1 students go every half-term to Christ Church in Bebington to help with a cake sale for the community. The church then usually donates the profits to a charity. When the Year 8 and 9 students went to sell cakes yesterday, they raised an unprecedented £211 which was then given to us by the church to contribute to our zoo trip.
The generosity of the community has completely blown us away. Thank you so much to Christ Church and well done to our fabulous students!
Prom/Yr11 Leavers
We appreciate all the year 11 families who attended the Year 11 Leavers' Assembly. Looking back on their journey with us was really touching. The Year 11 Prom was a wonderful event, witnessing everyone having a great time made it a memorable night.
Pot Noodle Challenge Winners
Our victorious Year 8 team crafted the slogan ‘BBQ with the Bull’! Look out for their designs and slogan in Co-op stores starting September, as they launch a fresh pot noodle flavour. The trust-led Dragon's Den contest was a success, and the Design Technology department is thrilled with all the Year 8 entries for the Pot Noodle Challenge. The students did an amazing job representing the department and school!
British Science Week Poster Competition
We are excited to announce that two of our students' submissions for the Co-op Academies Trust British Science Week competition have received high recognition from both voters and judges. One of the entries was awarded the title of best overall poster in Years 7-9 amongst all participating schools, while another entry was named runner-up for Best Overall Poster across all years and schools. Congratulations to all participants for their outstanding work - the quality of the posters was truly impressive, making it a tough decision for the judges to select the winners.
Pioneer of the Month winner
Congratulations to Oliver for being named ‘Pioneer of the Month’ by Duracell for his dedication to the Big Battery Hunt campaign. His hard work has been acknowledged on a national level, and he even won an iPad as a reward. Great job, Oliver, Mrs Hopkins, and team!
Level 1 Certificate in BSL for Staff Members
We are excited to share that Miss Donaghy, Mrs Edge-Sayer, and Miss Evans have successfully obtained their Level 1 certificate in British Sign Language. We commend them for their commitment and effort! Mrs Parsons is currently preparing for the Level 1 qualification, and her exam is coming up soon.
Year 7 Wirral School Dance Festival
The Year 7 dancers participated in the Wirral Schools Dance Festival at the Floral Pavillion Theatre, showcasing their talent in two performances. They delivered outstanding shows and showed great kindness and support to all the other schools involved.
BebFest
Our talented students really shone at BebFest this year! Huge well done to everyone who took to the stage and performed. You were all amazing!
This year's BebFest was all about going green. We had so many exciting activities to enjoy alongside our fantastic bands, including second-hand clothing stalls, a 'chill out quiet zone', plant sales, smoothie bikes, bug tasting and raffle prizes.
We hope you had as much fun as we did! It was a true team effort, and we want to give a big thank you to Miss Utley, Mrs. Hopkins, the PTA, and the entire BebFest & Green team for making it all possible and working together to make this an unforgettable night.
