  • Cells Project

    Published 16/11/22

What a pleasure it was to invite the Cells Project and PC Elaine Cowen into our school last week. The presenters delivered age -appropriate sessions to year 7 students and encouraged them to think about the dangers of crime and what controlling and exploitative relationships are. By enabling students an informed choice it encourages them to understand personal responsibility and embrace positive diversionary alternatives, including recreational and vocational activity. Their mentoring team consists of individuals with first hand experience on the consequences of being involved in illegal activities, Cells are doing amazing things and we are sure the impact on our students will be massive!

  • Best ever exam results at Co-op Academy Bebington!

    Published 25/08/22

At Co-op Academy Bebington our students and staff have achieved the best GCSE results the school has ever had and we are absolutely delighted.

Ms Kelly, The Head Teacher commented, “This morning was a huge celebration for staff and students and smiles abounded. I am so proud that, despite Covid and the school flood in September 2021, which disrupted the school until Feb 2022, our fantastic students rose to the challenge.  Staff gave up Saturday mornings, every holiday period and after school time to work with our students and that dedication and professionalism clearly paid off.”

Our post 16 level 3 results were outstanding too and 100% of our Year 13 students got their 1st choice university place or their choice of jobs.  Well done to all.

Co-op Academy Bebington has worked extensively on its improvement journey and is now a school of choice with students appealing for places in the school and with exam results like these, it’s not surprising!

Ms Kelly said, “Congratulations to all, we truly are living our core professional purpose; “Shaping Exceptional Futures”

Of particular note were the results of Thomas Ogley who achieved 3 grade 9s and 5 grade 8s at GCSE and Cameron Sudlow who achieved AAB grades at A level.

  • Success Stories

    Published 25/08/22

    Faith

Faith is a Pupil Premium student who grew in confidence over the course of her time at Bebington. In KS3 she presented some challenging behaviours resulting in her being placed on the HT panel, close to permanent exclusion. We persevered with her and provided support which allowed her to flourish. In Faith we saw a complete turnaround attending all interventions, independently seeking support and thriving as part of the ‘Universify’ programme, she also achieved ‘The Greatest U-Turn award’ at the school Prom. Her results are a testament to both the school and her own perseverance and hard work. She is returning to complete her A Levels in our school with the intention of going on to university – she’ll be the 1st in her family to achieve this feat.

    Rio

Rio achieved fantastic grades despite very challenging home circumstances. He managed to overcome lots of barriers including the death of his Mother, in year 11, during the GCSE season. External factors had an impact on his behaviour and this meant he was at risk of permanent exclusion on several occasions. Rio took advantage of the extensive support, sometimes grudgingly. This has now resulted in him having an array of options at post 16, one of those is to remain at Bebington Sixth Form.

That said, it has been a fantastic year in school as we have managed to restart
